Big Steer

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Cletus is a 10 year old Hereford steer who has had an easy life. Castrated as a youngster, he eats and sleeps his life away occasionally doing some light duties as a lead steer keeping the herd calm. He weighs in at 2,950 pounds. Unfortunately for him, he was sold at auction to a buyer from Minnesota and is headed to the slaughterhouse.

APTOPIX Big Steer

His former owner Bill McIntosh stood by as the bidding went on at the Montana Livestock Auction on Tuesday. The herd will have to follow a new lead steer now and Bill is looking for a replacement. I guess we’ll all have to say goodbye to Cletus.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

In America, we have a lot of holidays. This holiday seems to be one of my favorite ones. There are so many great things about it that makes it special. The first great thing is having the family get together and spending time together. It’s nice to be in a house full of people and being a part of all the things that goes on.

The food is another thing that makes the day special. I like the turkey and all the trimmings that go along with it. The desserts are always welcome as well. I hope that each of you will enjoy the day as much as I. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Food…

People always ask about the food in prison. Is it really as bad as they say? Being as that people on the outside have heard how bad it is, people on the inside are not surprised that it is horrible. I have many stories on bad food. I won’t tell them all here, but will comment on its general distaste.

I once heard the average meal costs 17 cents a meal to serve. I believe it entirely. Think about how cheap the food must be to only cost 17 cents. We inmates are the dumping ground for every item that the good people of the world won’t buy. Does this food go to waste? No, it goes to us! Women? Drink? No! Food is by far the best perk of freedom!
