It is always good to hear news about a hero. One such man is David Benke. He is a math teacher at Deer Creek Middle School in Littleton, Colorado. This is his story. Near the end of the school day, a man started shooting a rifle at students in the parking lot. Amid all the confusion, Benke made a decision. He took action and ran toward the shooter and tackled him, he then held him there until police arrived.

The shooter was a 32 year old man named Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood. He is currently in jail with one million dollar bail set by a judge. He has a history of criminal activity and faces attempted first degree murder charges. I’m glad that Mr. Benke was able to stop this man before further damage was done.

The New Orleans Saints have won Super Bowl 44!! Congratulations to the Saints for winning their first Super Bowl. They defeated the Indianapolis Colts by a score of 31-17.
The Saints MVP quarterback Drew Brees expressed his happiness for the city that survived hurricane Katrina after the game by saying “This championship is for you, New Orleans”

I was lucky enough to join the other 106.5 million television viewers who tuned in to see the game. The game was pretty good and full of surprising plays. I congratulate the Saints for finally breaking through and winning the big game!!

I know this is not a prison story, but I wanted to write it anyway. I was fortunate enough to come across some copper wire the other day and so I took it home. I stripped away the insulation and had occasion to visit the scrap yard. I love the thought of recycling and getting paid for it is even better!

I am happy to inform everybody that I ended up with 51 pounds of number 1 copper wire. I received $2.30 per pound for a grand total of $117.30. I was as happy as could be as I can always use a little extra cash. Maybe I’ll be able to help the economy a little and help someone keep their job!
